Bonnie and Roy had met back in high school, and the pair married a couple of days before she turned 16. Roy wasn’t exactly a good guy and was known for his abusive behavior. Tired of the physical altercations, Bonnie packed up her things as soon as the relationship crumbled for good, although the pair never formally filed for divorce. Some people argue that Bonnie had a “thing” for robbers, as in 1929 Roy was arrested on robbery charges. He served a prison sentence of five years for the misdemeanor, and the two of them never laid eyes on each other ever again.
