Petty theft, bank robberies and kidnappings don’t exactly paint a picture of a wholesome couple on the right side of the law. Many believe that Bonnie and Clyde robbed and stole for their own gain only, which is not entirely the truth.
While we can’t exactly call them Robin Hood, their goal was to take care of their loved ones financially. Clyde even had plans to buy a plot of land for his parents in Louisiana, which would have been like a game-changer for them.

A Slippery Slope

When you’re on the run, often you have to make choices that go against your moral compass, or even just in the opposite direction of your own common sense. For Bonnie and Clyde, who never had an intention to do more than steal, bringing harm to people was the last thing they thought they would resort to doing.
When he was caught in the act of robbery and with little other choice to make, Clyde shot a police officer and the owner of the store in a bid to make an escape. His fellow Barrow Gang members also started killing cops in their daily antics as a result. This was a moment where everything went beyond the point of no return.
