Josh Adam Garcia was a fan favorite on season three of The Next Food Network Star. Affectionately dubbed “JAG” by fans, his profile was boosted by his claim that he served with the marines in Afghanistan and was now trying to have a go at a new profession. As it turned out, this was a slight embellishment, which as you can imagine, did not go down well with anyone.
According to The Army Times, he didn’t spend nearly two years in the infantry, never even deployed to a warzone and it was unclear whether he was ever a corporal. In reality, he was asked to leave after less than nine months as a private. The lies didn’t stop there. As it turns out, he never even finished culinary school in New York, as he claimed later. Twitter trolls now refer to him as a jag off.
