The Exceptional Hive
Traditional hives are made up of a series of smaller honeycombs that form the greater whole. In this particular case, this hive consisted of two larger than usual honeycombs, referred to by David as “giant” ones.

Being exposed to such an unusual hive gave David the opportunity to study something unique in nature. He was fascinated by what they had achieved, and looked curiously for other features unique to this particular hive.
