A desperate plea
Before Lisa could say another word, Mark’s voice cut through the air, firm and unwavering. “That’s enough, Lisa,” he said, his tone brooking no argument. “This is our wedding day. If you can’t support us, then you need to leave.” Lisa’s face crumpled with anguish. “Mark, please, don’t do this. Just hear me out,” she pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation. But Mark stood resolute, his expression a poignant mix of sorrow and determination. The room fell silent, the tension so thick it was almost palpable. Sarah watched the scene unfold, feeling a flicker of sympathy for Lisa. Even so, she knew they couldn’t allow her to ruin this moment. Steeling herself, she gently took Mark’s hand and squeezed it, offering him quiet support.
