Bows At The Ready
This approach started with lightning speed attacks, which involved getting the most out of their bow and arrows. Khan’s army would then retreat very quickly before the enemy was able to regroup from the attack. Another contingent of soldiers would be ready to strike again, essentially never giving opponents the chance to launch a large-scale retaliation. The consequences were devastating for any army that stood in the way of the Mongols on their quest for domination.

Leader Targeting
Genghis Khan’s primary strategy was to target the enemy leaders, and by taking them out the entire rival army would be in a state of disarray. When this happened, the Mongol forces would reiterate their domination, striking to ensure a final crushing blow. Knowing the importance of taking out the leader of their opponent was hammered into the minds of the Mongol army in the same way they knew to obey their one and only ruler.
