The Women’s Royal Naval Service
The Wrens (or WRNS) gained notoriety back in WWI, but was closed down shortly after it ended in 1919. When WWI started to loom, the organization returned, in a bid to help out wherever they possibly could.
The Womens Royal Naval Service
The British Wrens were eventually integrated with the Royal Navy in 1933. Depicted here in one of the few color photographs are two brave women working on fixing a plane ahead of its scheduled attack missions in the days to follow.
