Oscar Wilde was one of the 19th century’s most celebrated authors and poets, with novels like The Portrait of Dorian Gray being regarded as one of literature’s greatest works. Eventually, Wilde would travel around America, giving 150 lectures to hundreds of thousands of people. Wilde may have been high-born and dandy, but he loved to spend time with all manner of people, including the silver miners of Colorado.
