In China, having smaller frame is frequently connected with being more feminine and appealing. Women with bigger bodies are deemed ugly and are therefore less likely to find a partner than other women. As a result of this pressure, various social media challenges have been created to encourage women to flaunt their often alarmingly tiny body sizes.

Women were instructed to wrap their arms from their backs and touch their belly button in one task. In other tasks, women were asked to demonstrate how many pennies would fit into their clavicle bone, and in others, they were asked to compare their waists to the width of sheets of paper.
