Strategized Searching
The search party consisted of the Tennessee Bureau of Information (TBI), Blount County Search and Rescue Team, Blount County Chief Deputy Jeff French, Blount County Fire Department, and the Blount County Sheriff’s Department. They decided to conduct their mission in grid searches.

After news of Kaydon circulated throughout the community, everyone became alert and vigilant in starting their search. An Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) sent out a broadcast within hours to get the members moving.
