R.E.M. – $75 million
When it comes to American rock bands, few were as prominent or renowned as R.E.M. The Georgia-formed band was made up of Bill Berry, who was a musician and drummer that would join forces with Mike Mills, Michael Stipe, and Peter Buck. The gentlemen met during their time at the University of Georgia. Losing My Religion was a phenomenally successful song of theirs that remained high in the charts for an extended period. The band would end in 2011.
