Merle Haggard is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, but is best appreciated for his magical fiddling abilities. He is a powerhouse of country music creation and called California his home. He would rise to prominence during The Great Depression thanks to tracks such as If I Could Fly, Pancho & Lefty, and Mama Tried. Haggard would become central to the development of modern American music in general. Sadly, he would pass in 2016. Thankfully, we have his incredible music to remember him by.
