They broke off a section of the stone and took it to a lab for microscopic inspection. They were going to need all of science’s instruments if they were going to shed any kind of light on this fascinating find. Just what was this thing, and where did it come from?

Despite initially appearing as a complete enigma, under proper scientific scrutiny, the archeologists soon became assured that what they were looking at was not a rock, but a turtle shell fossil! This wasn’t an isolated discovery, however, as there was something thousands of miles away to which the shell was connected to. No man is an island, but the same logic often applies to ancient discoveries, it would appear.
