If you wanted to see these animals, you would have to be in existence over 10,000 years ago. It is most likely that these creatures were a hot target for humans as their shells were believed to be used as shelters. Also, the shells could have been used as a protective barrier against predators. It was also possible that the ice age played a great role in helping to put an end to the lives of these creatures.
