Nostalgia
John could not help but feel touched that his old friend had gone to this extent to get another glimpse of his beloved companion’s face again. John was not irritated to have his valuable time wasted. Rather, he was overjoyed to be working on the case again, even if it was a ridiculous one. They were both just happy to be in each other’s company again, and that old feeling of respect and excitement was coming back, even if just for a short while.
