Maya Bay
Following its appearance in the movie “The Beach,” which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Maya Bay, which is situated in Thailand, quickly developed into a popular tourist destination. The island’s ecology and ecosystem started to suffer irreversible harm somewhere over the following 18 years as a direct result of the island’s oversaturation with tourists. In response, the government of Thailand made the decision to temporarily restrict the region in an effort to give the environment time to recover. It hasn’t been operational again as of yet.
