Heard Island is a little territory that is controlled by Australia, yet it is situated in the midst of nowhere, right in the center of Antarctica, Australia, and the most southern point of Africa. In addition to the fact that getting there is very difficult, the only resident on the island is an erupting volcano, which makes the environment very hostile to human habitation.

Mezhgorye is a remote settlement in the Ural Mountains in Russia that has no access to the outside world.
