She was in other classic movies such as A Simple Wish and Mrs. Doubtfire, and all three films were produced only months apart. Despite having highly enjoyed her experience acting, Mara realized at a young age that she would replace acting with humanitarian and novelist pursuits. She intends to continue her good work for Publicolor, an NPO dedicated to aiding marginalized youngsters to get involved with art.
