@maweezy is considered one of the original cosplayers. Her work is diverse and she has played Buzz Lightyear, Harley Quinn, and Valkyrie to mention just a few characters. She also participated in the 2019 forum held to teach newbies how to become a successful cosplayer. People speak this lady’s name in the same breath as expert cosplayers Maki Roll, Lua Stardust, and Mikal Mosley. One of the things discussed on this panel was how difficult it is to obtain contracts at conventions. Cosplayers do have day-jobs, Maweezy is a nurse.

This version of a gender twisted Hellboy is presented by cosplayer Tanuki Tinka Asai. Even though you cannot see it in the picture, the costume even has separated hooves. The minutiae of the belt design are incredible and the coat and liberal use of red lacquer make this outfit unique. Tanuki says that the character of Hellgirl is her all-time favorite. Fans know her best for her depictions of characters in the ‘Winter Ginger’ series which she is well known for. Head on over to her Facebook page to see all her other creations.
