Silvio Horta
The American producer and screenwriter was an accomplished television giant whose works include the hilarious and successful television sitcom, Ugly Betty. He did so much good work for Latin and Latin-American actors and actresses that his passing was a shocking loss to the community at large. When Horta won a Golden Globe for Ugly Betty in the Best Comedy Series category, Horta’s speech described how his main character was an immigrant, as were so many other people living in America, and they had all managed to achieve The American Dream.
