Years Of Work Went Into The Rock
Before building the cave house, Grant had experience as a miner, and those skills became essential. Carving a livable home into solid rock was not quick or easy. It took years of work, planning, and determination. Piece by piece, he shaped the space until the stone began to turn into rooms, walls, and open areas that could actually function as a home.
The finished result is striking. Large glass panels bring in natural light and frame the views of the Utah wilderness outside. The stone walls remain a major part of the design, giving the house a dramatic texture that ordinary homes cannot copy. Instead of hiding the rock, Grant made it the main feature. Every room feels connected to the landscape around it, making the home feel both protected and wide open at the same time.
